In Memory of Remo Salvadori
1947 — 2026
There are no words, no speech that can truly contain the memory of Remo Salvadori. For me, he was not only one of the leading figures of a remarkable cultural season, but also a constant presence throughout fifty years of friendship.
A return to the essence of things shaped both his artistic vision and the way he lived and related to others. Remo would often arrive with a gift — a small artwork or a book — and from that would always emerge a lively conversation, driven by his endless intellectual curiosity.
With him, even the simplest gesture carried a rare spiritual depth, like the acts of measuring, cutting and folding that defined many of his works. In his world, there was no separation between daily life and artistic practice: both followed the same inner discipline, the same pursuit of essentiality.
Remo had a natural way of leaving a profound mark, much like the birch tree he planted in the gallery courtyard for his solo exhibition in 2017. It always felt to me like a reflection of the way he moved through life: deeply rooted in friendship and human connection, yet constantly lifted by a profound spiritual tension.
An irreplaceable soul, and an irreplaceable way of looking at the world.
